OUR STORY

Our team at Mind Matters Psychiatry is dedicated to providing outstanding care by continuously learning and working together. We keep up-to-date with the latest, attend and speak at professional conferences, and collaborate with other specialists to guarantee that our patients receive the best evidence-based treatment.

OUR APPROACH

We prioritize precise diagnosis and pharmacological treatment of psychiatric disorders, along with short-term supportive psychotherapy. Our aim is to supplement the essential work of licensed counselors, social workers, and who provide more extensive psychotherapy, rather than replace it. Our licensed psychotherapists work together with our medical team to provide comprehensive care.

COMPREHENSIVE EVALUATIONS

We conduct thorough evaluations to uncover the various factors contributing to your suffering. This includes assessing biological predispositions, family dynamics, problematic behaviors, psychological traits, life circumstances, and social stressors. By understanding these elements, we can create personalized treatment plans that align with your unique needs and goals.

HOLISTIC SELF-CARE

We encourage our patients to embrace holistic self-care practices such as regular physical activity, restorative sleep, proper nutrition, social interaction, and stress reduction. These elements are vital in achieving overall well-being and are integral to our treatment philosophy.

Kristi became a registered nurse over 25 years ago and has worked in nursing facilities,
medical surgical units, wound care, case management and psychiatry. Early on in her
career she had the opportunity to do volunteer work in Honduras and used her RN skills
to serve communities that lacked access to healthcare. In addition to Central America,
Kristi lived in the Netherlands and Spain and gained tremendous insight into providing
culturally competent care to clients.
As a practitioner, Kristi believes in evidenced based treatment that is client centered and individualized to their needs. Services she offers include comprehensive psychiatric
evaluation, medication management, and psychotherapy when appropriate. An
important concept that guides her practice is hope; it is invaluable as an individual
journeys through mental illness. Kristi’s goal for treatment is that each client gains the
tools to live in a healthy mental state and experience a non-judgmental and hopeful
environment at every appointment. A few important things to Kristi outside of work are;
family, faith and traveling.
